Open Camera is an excellent free camera app that takes a vastly different approach to photos than other apps in the same category. It doesn't offer the expansive list of filters and effects that other apps want you to use on your photos, but instead it provides you with one of the most powerful camera apps in the market.
You might not think that Open Camera has any special features when you first start using it. In fact, it might seem disappointing compared to the default camera app in the Android platform. However, under the hood is a different story. This app only requires about 600KB, while the standard Google camera app requires over 20MB. That's quite a difference considering the utility of the two apps is nearly identical.
One of the standout features of the Open Camera app is that it provide you with a real time display of the remaining free space in your device. The functionality of the camera itself is fairly standard. You can zoom in and out, take photos on a timer, use the advanced image stabilizer, and take advantage of multiple photo capture modes. It's free and doesn't show any ads unlike other apps of this nature.
