Endgame Syria is an experimental journalism app and mobile game. This-one-of-a-kind development turns real-time reporting from a war zone into an interactive experience. The software initially launched at the end of 2012, which was during the height of sectarian conflicts in the Middle East. The creators claimed they were attempting to innovate press coverage of the bloodshed, but many critics deemed the product to be exploitative instead. In fact, Apple has completely refused to distribute this release via their App Store, so it is presently available on Android platforms exclusively. At its core, this title is merely an aggrandized virtual trading card game.
