Powder is a skiing simulation with extreme simplicity in mind. The overt emphasis on minimalism feels like a throwback to old TI-83+ games. It might be a basic premise, but the execution is endlessly entertaining. Controls are super easy to grasp, but they require a degree of mastery to make it down the slope. Tapping determines shifts in direction, and a double tap will initiate jumping. There is only one game mode in this title, and high scores are strictly localized, so players won’t have any online leaderboards to measure their skills. It’s actually pretty Zen!
