Foehn Game put out a Mario title that could go up against the official Nintendo titles when they released this Android app.

With art that resembles the childish style first used in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, this app allows players to take control of a younger version of everyone's favorite Italian plumber. Mario is a simple platform video game that features an onscreen display in lieu of a complicated control scheme.

This often doesn't work since touchscreen controls aren't ever as precise as a discrete controller or keyboard might be. While Mario might never play as well as a genuine Super Nintendo game, Foehn's engineers did their best to make the touchscreen controls work. If you have a USB port on your Android device, then you might even be able to remap the controls to a physical controller that will you let you really enjoy Mario to the fullest.

Since all the code is executed on a native basis, Mario also doesn't suffer from emulation glitches or any of the other problems that usually come with trying to play Nintendo titles on Android phones and tablets. Those who played Mario games in the past should feel a sense of nostalgia when they start this one.
